The Dune and Flowerbulb Region is home to many migrant workers, all of whom have brought a piece of their own culture with them. So did Michael and Honorata from Poland. They started Polish speciality restaurant U Górala at a distinctive Piet Gijs location, in hamlet Piet Gijs. Which means something like Highlander. Here they proudly serve their healthy, quality dishes with the authentic taste of Poland. Pork chops, goulash or Silesian dumplings with lard are just a selection from the menu.
But it did not stop there, besides the restaurant, they brew their own light and dark beers and noble whiskey, make and sell homemade sausages, hams or smoked bacon and have even recently started a motor café. Interrupt your bike ride here for some relaxation, coffee and cake or a nice meal.
And that's not all, Michael made next to the restaurant a colourful vintage museum full of cars, motorbikes, a pram, old appliances and numerous Polish advertising signs that will teach you more about Polish motorisation.
