Leenderbos, Groote Heide en Stabrechtse Heide
Westerhoven, Heeze, Geldrop
The Leenderbos and Groote Heide are approximately 2000 hectares. The area consists mainly of pine trees, but due to Staatsbosbeheer more and more heathland areas are being created. Due to the developments in these two areas, many different birds can be discovered. The kingfisher, nightjar, roar dull and wasp thief, but also large and small game, live here. The Stabrechtse Heide actually has a wrong name. If you expect an enormous plain with heathland, you will be surprised by a varied area where special plants such as the water scoop and the sundew grow around the fens. A lot of dragonfly species, the moor frog and the natterjack toad are having a great time here.
