Cycling route Experiences in Bronckhorst

Bronckhorst, Zutphen, Brummen
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life with a bike ride through Bronckhorst. This municipality in Gelderland is often called the most beautiful in the Achterhoek – and we can see why! With this cycling route, you’ll discover the stunning green surroundings where you can truly unwind. Cycle past charming Achterhoek villages and hop off now and then to visit the impressive country estates you’ll pass along the way. How about Huis Baak and its beautiful garden?
In the municipality of Bronckhorst, you’ll find the smallest city in the Netherlands: Bronkhorst. With just 60 buildings, the village church is visible from every corner of town. The village originally grew around Castle Bronkhorst as a small farming community. Even though the entire town once burned down, walking through it still feels like stepping into another era. The farmhouses have been beautifully restored and give the streets a charming atmosphere.
This route also takes you through the Hanseatic city of Zutphen – full of character and history. In the heart of the city centre stands the imposing Old Town Hall, its facade a great example of classic Hanseatic architecture. Just around the corner you’ll find the former city library De Librije, one of the oldest public reading rooms in the Netherlands and a must-visit for lovers of culture and history.
