With this cycle route, you no longer have to choose whether you want to cycle along the coast, through polders or past inland waters. We’ve put all of these options into one cycle route for you!

Start at the fishing village and popular seaside town of Katwijk. Here you’ll find a TOP, where you can easily park your car if you’re arriving by car first. Cycle along the coast of Noordwijk, through the polders above Voorhout, heading for Sassenheim. Here you can admire the Teylingen Ruin.

Before long you’ll reach the stunning Kagerplassen; the oldest water sports area in the Netherlands with picture-perfect views. From the sweet waters and polders, you cycle to the Boterhuispolder and the Broek- en Simontjespolder. Discover the different windmills here that keep these polders dry.

After Stadspark De Leidse Hout, you follow the last kilometres of the Rhine back to Katwijk, but not before passing through one more stretch of dunes. Admire the Vlaggeduin and cycle back to where you started: the heart of Katwijk.
