Cycle route Hear the bells ringing over the Strabrechtse Heide

Mierlo, Someren, Asten
The Strabrechtse Heide, with its woods, heathland and fens is a magnificent nature reserve. Cycle in peace and quiet between the grazing sheep, different types of dragonflies and special plant species. You can also stop here for a short walk to complement your cycling tour.
Besides the beautiful nature, you will also pass through the towns of Asten and Heusden, where you can make your day out complete. You can visit the Klok & Peel Museum, which has the largest collection of bells and carillons in the world. Apart from these bells and carillons, there is also a lot to find out about the nature reserve of De Peel, located near Asten. In Asten, a visit to Kasteel Asten is also worthwhile. This castle was so badly damaged during the wars that the building has unfortunately become a ruin. The outer bailey is still in full glory and the ruins that have remained paint an idyllic picture. In Heusden, you can take a beautiful walk along the Starkriet nature reserve. Along the way, there are various catering establishments where you can relax while enjoying a cup of coffee or an extensive lunch.
Coming by car? Then start your cycle route at Restaurant 't Mierles Huukske, close to junction 32, where you will find plenty of parking space.
