Natural cycle route from Leeuwarden to Sneek

Leeuwarden, Sneek, De Veenhoop
Two of the most beautiful cities in Friesland are Leeuwarden and Sneek. Visit these two cities during your cycling trip. Stop in both cities for a cup of coffee, lunch or dinner. Both cities have an indescribably nice atmosphere that you should experience.
Between Leeuwarden and Sneek, you will encounter picturesque typical Frisian villages such as Akkrum and Wytgaard. Almost the entire route is along water, which is not surprising in the water province of the Netherlands. Because of this, you will also encounter a number of ferries, which provide a nice variation and a holiday feeling in your own country.
Besides the nice towns, villages and ferries, you will also see a lot of nature on this route. You will come across various bird-watching huts which you do not only have to use for bird watching, you can also simply enjoy the view. Cycle through the De Alde Feanen National Park, a nature reserve with a lot of variation in landscapes and, of course, a lot of water.
Let yourself be wrapped up in the charm of beautiful Fryslân on this cycle route and enjoy!
Parking tip: Near the junction is a large shopping centre with plenty of parking space.
Note: There are two ferries on this route which sail from April to the end of September. Check the sailing times of the ferries before you leave. The ferries do not sail in bad weather.
