Some 2,000 years ago a Roman border fort, Castellum Matilo, stood on this spot, which is now home to Archeologisch Park Matilo. This fortress was situated on the border (Limes) of the Roman Empire. Step back in time and feel like a Roman in the park. The high earthen walls, watchtowers and special 'line statues' make you feel the history of the area.
On the way, enjoy the beautiful nature, mills and meadow birds in the Munnikkenpolder and polder Achthoven or visit the play hill in the Ghoybos.
