Nijeberkoop, Wolvega, Oldeberkoop
The small village of Nijeberkoop is known for its big cat shelter Felida. The inhabitants had to get used to the roaring of the lions. The village of Egypt is named after the old farm in the hamlet and is located at the National Park Drents-Friese Wold. Wolvega owes its name, among other things, to the large wolf population that existed here in the early 18th century. It is therefore assumed that the name stands for 'Region of Wolves'. You can fully recover from this cycling route in exotic style at the Mediterranean restaurant Ben Lagerhuis in Wolvega.
