Vierhouten, Elspeet

This route leads you through the forests and over the moors of this beautiful area. With a little luck you spot wildlife during the cycle route.

Around Elspeet is the Elspeetse Heide, a sloping area with here and there some fens. This area consists of beautiful pine forests, several lakes and beautiful views. You may encounter rabbits, hares or even a roe deer here while enjoying the sounds of various bird species.

The Vierhoutense Heide is also beautiful, an estate with forest, heath and sand drifts. There are many different species of plants and animals to discover in this nature reserve. With a little luck, you will come across a flock of sheep. These graze on the heath in some seasons and are therefore a natural grass cutter for the area. The Vierhoutense Heide has many open areas so you can see far and a sunrise or sunset can be seen beautifully here.
