Cycle route Veluwe folk tales (part 2)

Renkum, Otterlo, Arnhem
Folk tales can teach us a lot, they move you or make you curious! During this cycle route, you will discover why you should not get too carried away, like the white damsel who used to live in Grunsfoort Castle. You can only see the outlines of the castle now, but it is said that the white damsel still appears when the moon colours the water of the Renkum stream white...
Another lesson from this route is to be careful what you say. The story of the burning shepherd tells you why. Don't be blinded by beauty, because that can have nasty consequences like for Johan van Otterloo. Finally, you will learn why the eagerness of the canons was punished by Charles of Gelre's infamous general: the artistic Maarten van Rossum.
Get on your bike and unravel the mysteries.
