Cycle route UNESCO World Heritage

Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam
A cycle route along all the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Netherlands! Lubricate your bicycle chain and make sure you have good cycling trousers because this route of almost 900 kilometres will not leave you in the cold. And that is not only because of the distance but especially because of the special dismounting moments that are unique in the world. Together they tell the story of our country and you can discover this special story on your bike.
Taste the salt on your lips at the Wadden Sea, count the windmills at Kinderdijk, let off steam at the Woudagemaal, cycle along the Grachtengordel of Amsterdam, visit Gerrit Rietveld, plough through the polders in the Beemster, lie in wait at the Hollandse Waterlinies, Experience the lights at the Van Nelle Factory, cycle back in time on the former island of Schokland, find out if your ancestors lived in the Koloniën van Weldadigheid and discover the traces of the Romans along the Lower Germanic Limes.
Make the cycle route a little longer in your mind by adding Willemstad, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and imagine yourself on the Caribbean island of Curaçao.
The Noordhollands Duinreservaat is a nature reserve managed by the drinking water company PWN and stretches from Wijk aan Zee to Schoorl. In this area with dunes, woods, lakes and cultural-historical aspects, an admission card (dune card) is required from the age of 18. Cycling is allowed on the paved paths, but not or not at all on the unpaved paths until half past 10 in the morning. This is indicated by signs and on the PWN walking and cycling map. Prepare for your visit via the PWN website.
