Today you cycle a route along highlights that coincidentally all with an L begin: from Lexmond you cycle along the Lek to Leerdam, to then via a part of the Linge back to Lexmond to wind. A delightful route, where you can fully enjoy the wide views over river floodplains and polders.
The route brings you then to fortified town Leerdam, a place with a rich history that still visible is. Wander along the old city walls, canals and characteristic streets. Leerdam stands also known as the glass city of the Netherlands. In the glassworks this craft comes to life: here you see with your own eyes how glowing hot glass is transformed into the most beautiful artworks and utility objects. From the crafts and history, you pull the nature back into. You cycle a beautiful piece along the Linge. With her winding course, fruit orchards and quiet banks is the Linge designated as one of the most beautiful rivers of the Netherlands.
