Cycle route Fun on the Salland Hill Ridge

Holten, Haarle, Nieuw Heeten
Get the whole family on bikes and set off together to discover the Salland Hill Ridge! This national park is a combination of large moors and forests. The sloping landscape means that at the highest points you can see far across the area!
The most beautiful part is around Holterberg. That is where you will go today, and not just to look at nature. Of course you will see beautiful trees and purple heath on the way, but you will also come to a number of places where you can really take in nature. Romp around in the OERRR play forest, for example, where you can climb, jump, build huts and mess around with mud in every tree. Learn more about the wolves in the area with the special wolf puzzle trail.
Once you arrive at Holterberg, you can learn a lot more about the landscape. The Nature Museum tells you about the Salland Hill Ridge using its collection of more than a thousand (stuffed) animals and its world-famous dioramas. Dioramas are like life-size peep boxes. Looking into them, you see animals in ways you could only encounter in the forest with a lot of luck. Here you can look at them in detail.
In Daantje Das' play forest, you can do fun and exciting tasks that all have to do with the forest. Is that a bit too exciting for you? Then you can follow the frogs along the Big Frog Path.
This family route teaches you everything about the nature of the Salland Hill Ridge, but also about how much fun nature gives you. Put on your old trousers and get dirty with us!
