Cycle route between Overloon and Gemert
There had hardly been any overpayment. In 1944 the village was almost completely destroyed during the Battle of Overloon, but after the liberation Overloon was rebuilt. As a reminder of those black days, the Overloon War Museum was established. This route starts in Milheeze. Although it is not big, it is rich in history: recent excavations have shown that 10,000 years ago people of the Youth Culture already lived there. The tower of the St Willibrordus Church dates from the beginning of the fifteenth century. In comparison, the eighteenth-century octagonal Laurentia mill is only a 'youngster'.
