Cycle route around Apeldoorn

Apeldoorn, Radio Kootwijk, Beekbergen
During this cycle tour you will drive straight into the city of Apeldoorn. Even though it has a population of more than 150,000, you will find peace and quiet in and around the city due to the many green spaces. Of course you will also find Paleis het Loo, the Apenheul and play paradise Koningin Julianatoren, but Apeldoorn is also the departure station of the Veluwse Steam Train Company. Deeply hidden on the Veluwe, in one of the most beautiful and extensive nature reserves in the Netherlands, you will find Radio Kootwijk. Formerly a radio station for connection to the overseas areas, nowadays 'the cathedral' is a unique event location and an impressive cultural-historical monument. Beekbergen is best known for its tranquillity and nature. If you want to photograph wildlife, you have a good chance of getting the most beautiful pictures here. Despite the modest size of the village there are two sights that are interesting to visit: the restored paper mill from 1629 and the A-Ford Museum.
