Artistic bicycle route
Hierden, Elspeet, Nunspeet
The Veluwe is a popular area for walkers and cyclists, but also for artists. Many painters have travelled around here with their canvases, brushes and donkeys. You can get to know their art in the North Veluwe museum. Here stories are linked to the painters and residents who lived and worked in the area from 1880 to 1950. In Harderwijk you will find the Toekantoren and the artwork of an elephant which is made of discarded metal. Daniel George van Beuningen created the pyramids that you come across on the Noorderheide in Vierhouten.
An artistic cycling route while you cycle through beautiful nature and nice villages. Over 50 kilometres is a good piece of cycling, so be sure to take a break at Best Western Hotel Baars in Harderwijk or Hotel Castle de Essenburgh in Hierden. These are beautiful locations where you can relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or a sumptuous meal. You can also spend the night at both locations, so you can cycle the bicycle route in peace and quiet and enjoy all the beauty you encounter along the way. Lots of cycling fun!
