Windmill of Sloten - Sloten (Amsterdam)
The Windmill of Sloten is a still functioning polder mill with mortar and is also the only publicly accessible mill in Amsterdam. The mill is located on the outskirts of the city, near the Ringvaart, and ensures that the water level in the lower environment remains below a certain level. It is a scaffolding mill with a rebuilt octagon from 1846. Throughout the year, the mill can be visited daily between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. (with the exception of New Year's Day, King's Day and Christmas). The Molen van Sloten has an elevator, so that the elderly and the handicapped can get to the circulation (scaffolding). A number of voluntary employees are happy to give all explanations during the tour.
