Wheat mill De Regt - Nieuw-Lekkerland
This wheat mill was painted white in the 1930s; previously it was black. As far as we know, De Regt was built around 1850. Since the mill was taken out of operation in 1950, there have been several initiatives to restore it.
After eighteen years of deliberation, the sails and the cap were finally removed in 1968 due to the deteriorating condition. Unfortunately, proper maintenance was not carried out after that and the mill seemed to be ready for demolition. That is why, in 1998, the Stichting Herstel Molen De Regt (The Restoration Windmill Foundation) was established with the aim of saving the windmill. That happened in 2014. First the body was partly rebuilt and finally the new cap and sails were installed.
