Nature garden Zoetermeer - Zoetermeer
In 1976, a working group was formed to create a nature garden in Zoetermeer's Westerpark. Two years later, the first section was ready.
The nature garden was to be a botanical garden with all kinds of landscapes with plant species that occur naturally in the Zoetermeer area. These in turn attract local animal species. The landscape types from the past and the present that have been created vary from grain fields, an orchard, a marsh with reeds and rushes, flowery hay fields, ditches and canals, a fallow area and a shrubbery.
