Museum Hofje of Mrs. van Aerden

Museum Hofje of Mrs. van Aerden - Leerdam

N 51.8902377 / E 5.0921584

The Museum Hofje of Mrs. van Aerden stands stately on the river Linge and defines the face of Leerdam. The courtyard was built in 1770 according to the wishes of the widow of Pieter van Aerden, who died in 1764.

The style of the courtyard is an exceptional mix of 18th century Dutch thoroughness and French elegance with a touch of Rococo.

When you visit this museum you can admire the beautiful indoor and outdoor garden. Do not forget to view the special collection of paintings by 17th century Dutch masters in the Regentenkamer.
