Diagonally opposite the San Damiano city monastery lies the former Mariënburg city monastery of the Sisters of J.M.J. (Jesus, Mary, Joseph), built in 1899. The sisters played an important role in education and founded a teacher training college in 1925, specifically for girls from poor families.

In 2016, the convent was given a new purpose. The Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS) moved into the monumental building. This academy is a collaboration between the universities of Tilburg and Eindhoven and focuses on courses in data science.

The sisters are delighted that their convent will continue to serve an educational purpose. After a lifetime dedicated to knowledge and development, they are continuing this mission through a special education fund. This fund supports students at the data science academy in the building where prayers were once said and where algorithms, reason and passion now come together.
