Vught, 's-Hertogenbosch, Heeswijk-Dinther
Experience the tranquillity and heritage around 's-Hertogenbosch with this inspiring cycle route. You will cycle through a varied landscape full of nature, history and silence. From the Bossche Broek to the Abbey of Berne, every kilometre takes you further away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
You start just below Vught, where you first pass the Sint Petrusbasiliek in Boxtel. Then you cycle along the Essche Stroom and through green estates such as Haanwijk and Coudewater. Quiet paths along the Dommel river take you towards 's-Hertogenbosch, where the towers of St. John's Cathedral come into view. From the Bossche Broek nature reserve, which used to serve as a natural protection, you cycle into the city centre.
In the heart of Den Bosch, you will come across several (former) monasteries. Take your time to explore them all. Not only are they beautiful buildings, they all have a special history. Den Bosch is also a very lively city and the perfect place to enjoy a drink on a terrace.
At the end of the route, you will arrive at the Abbey of Berne in Heeswijk-Dinther. Here you can visit the abbey shop or enjoy a break in the tasting room.
Along the way, you will discover places that invite you to look, pause and reflect. This route allows you to experience the peace and beauty of Brabant in a unique way. For more stages of the Kloosterpad cycle route, visit visitbrabant.com/kloosterpadfietsroute.
