Near Hancate, you’ll find the Birdwatching Screen Archemermaten. Enjoy views over the ponds and grasslands, and spot kingfishers, herons, storks and terns.
In the middle of the Regge region near Hancate, this wooden lookout offers a peaceful spot with views over shallow ponds and marshy grasslands. These wetlands were created as part of the Regge area redesign and are now a true bird paradise. Think kingfishers, wagtails, common sandpipers. And in the right season, you might even see great egrets, storks and common terns.
The screen is located right next to nature trails, so it’s easy to combine your bike ride with a few quiet minutes of birdwatching. Bring binoculars or a camera, there’s a good chance you’ll spot some rare species, sometimes really close by.
