Baker Piet - Elspeet

In 1938, the original baker, Piet van der Horst and his wife Riek started the bakery. After the war, they expanded the assortment and the bakery became more of a grocery shop. At the time, there were no less than nine (!) bakers in Elspeet. In this way, Piet and Riek were able to stand out from the rest.

The bakery had gone from Grandpa Piet to Bakker Piet, and in the 1960s son Henk and his wife Sonja took over the business. The business was expanded into a grown-up supermarket, but still with an indoor bakery. In 2001, grandson of the founder, Ronny took over the business with his wife Esther. They decided to split the supermarket and the bakery.

Ronny and Esther are still at the helm today. They continue to develop Bakker Piet with passion. With a generous portion of creativity as the driving force, the products become even tastier, healthier and more sustainable. The basis of Bakker Piet can still be found in the completely renovated premises in March 2022. Enjoy a cup of coffee and cake, a lunch of luxury sandwiches and, from 16.00, pizzas!

From the shop, lunchroom and terrace, you have a view of the kitchen and production area and see the cooks, bread and pastry chefs at work.
