This pumping station from 1914 is located in Polder de Velserbroek, along the old Velserdijk. It is one of the most beautiful pumping stations in the Rijnland area. Pumping station Velserbroek had a supporting role within the Stelling van Amsterdam in the water management of the polders de Dammers, de Westbroek and de Oostbroek and in the inundation of strategic areas. Next to the pumping station stands the old engineer’s house, which together with the pumping station forms a special historic ensemble.
