Castle route Soest and surroundings

Soest, Baarn, Lage Vuursche
Along the Amsterdamsestraatweg between Baarn and Soest, you'll find Soestdijk Palace. Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard wave at you cheerfully, thanks to sculptor Kees Verkade. Currently, you can't go inside due to a large-scale renovation. The beautiful park can be admired during the summer months. Take a peaceful walk through the green gardens and enjoy the serene atmosphere surrounding the palace.
In Lage Vuursche, you cycle past Drakensteyn Castle, the residence where Princess Beatrix moved after her abdication. Unfortunately, the little castle can't be seen from the public road, and you can understand that you can't look inside. That's why we've added a few other beautiful castles to this route that you can admire, such as Groeneveld Castle and De Hooge Vuursche Castle. Groeneveld Castle, located in a beautiful wooded area, offers you a glimpse into the rich history and architecture of the region. De Hooge Vuursche Castle is a magnificent example of a country house and is situated in the middle of an extensive park where you can enjoy cycling and walking.
Enjoy the beautiful surroundings during this castle route. The route takes you through picturesque landscapes, past old estates, and through charming villages. Take the time to stop at one of the cozy terraces for a cup of coffee or a tasty lunch. Let yourself be surprised by the versatility and beauty of this unique region.
