Borculo, Ruurlo

The fine combination of cycling through nature and past surprising museums makes this a wonderful day out. In Borculo, you can visit the Fire Brigade Museum or the Crystal Museum. Both museums are probably not well known, but that is exactly why they are so enjoyable to visit. You'll be amazed at how much beauty and news you'll find in these museums. For example, the Fire Brigade Museum has the largest collection of old fire engines and equipment in the Netherlands. In the Kristalmuseum (Crystal Museum), you can view crystals, minerals, gemstones and fossils and learn about the history behind them. Furthermore, the Berkel river flows in Borculo and you can cycle over and along it several times.

Near Ruurlo you can visit the castle of the same name, Kasteel Ruurlo. The castle alone is worth a visit, but in the same building there is also Museum More. A museum full of magical paintings by the artist Carel Willink. Belevingspark Cactus Oase in Ruurlo is not only an enormous cactus garden but also a unique exhibition space. Get off your bike here and let yourself be surprised by everything Anny Cactus has to offer.
