Cycling route through forest and heathland
Ede, Otterlo, Lunteren
The peaceful area through which this cycling route passes was the grim backdrop of World War II combat. Traces of this can be found in and around Ede: You could for example, get off at the Airborne monument on the Ginkelse heide. You will also find Huis Kernhem in Ede, a place where young artists get a chance to exhibit their art. In the village of Otterlo there is one of the entrances to National Park 'De Hoge Veluwe', with which you can extend the route (after paying the entrance fee). The route also passes through Lunteren, which is seen by the inhabitants as a close-knit village. A little outside Lunteren you pass the De Koepel observation tower, which is definitely worth a visit.
