Cycling Route Enjoying the Gooi

Naarden, Blaricum, Laren
Discover the beautiful nature around Bussum and explore the charming villages in the area during this cycling route. You start in Bussum, once a favorite spot among artists, and known for television studios like Studio Irene and theater 't Spant. Now it's time to dive into nature. You ride to the Gooise nature reserve Zuiderheide, a true oasis of peace and beauty. Do you see the Zeven Bergjes here, the burial mounds dating back about four thousand years? Take a moment to enjoy the serene atmosphere and the scent of nature.
From here, you cycle to the picturesque Laren, originally a farming village, but in the nineteenth century transformed into an artists' and commuter village. Together with nearby Blaricum, it is now one of the most affluent municipalities in our country. You continue your route to Eemnes, which actually consists of two parts: Eemnes-Binnen, with charming farms along the Wakkerendijk, and Eemnes-Buiten, where much new construction is found around an old village center. Enjoy the mix of old and new as you cycle through this characteristic village.
On to the nearby Blaricummerheide, a breathtaking heathland that will make your heart beat faster. Here you will find the sheepfold, where you might see the sheep grazing and the shepherd at work. The combination of the sheepfold, the vast heath, and the vibrant flora and fauna make this area a true treat for nature lovers.
You end the route in Naarden, a city famous for its unique star shape and one of the best-preserved fortified towns in Europe. During a walk on the ramparts, you get a good impression of the excellently restored fortress. This cycling route offers a perfect mix of culture and nature.
