Cycle route West Schouwen-Duiveland
Renesse, Serooskerke, Burgh-Haamstede
Renesse has always been known as a seaside town. It used to have its own tram stop for the bathers, but it disappeared after the flood. Castle Moermond also suffered severely in 1953. Virtually nothing of the interior has been preserved. Serooskerke, not to be confused with the village of the same name in Walcheren, is the place where the dikes burst in 1953 with disastrous consequences for the Schouwen polder. Burgh-Haamstede is mainly known as a tourist area. In the summer, many find their way to the beaches.
