Cycle route through two national parks
Spier, Diever, Hoogersmilde
In Southwest Drenthe there is a special nature reserve: National Park Dwingelderveld. The managers ensure that forests, heaths and fens remain in good condition. On cycling and hiking trails, ATB and bridle paths, as well as two disabled paths, recreational and holidaymakers can discover nature. There is even a Night Walking Route. In this National Park, visitors can still enjoy an endless, undisturbed horizon. On the border of Southwest Drenthe and Southeast Friesland, lies a special area. The National Park Drents-Friese Wold is one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands. But not only that: the Drents-Friese Wold is one of the most beautiful and important nature reserves in Europe and has therefore been designated as a Natura 2000 area.
