Cycle route through Berg en Dal

Berg en Dal, Nijmegen, Erlecom
This cycle route takes you through the city, nature, over mountains and past vineyards. The rolling landscape with fields and wooded areas make this an ideal cycling environment.
Berg en Dal is fairytale-like, with green meadows and vineyards that make you feel like you are on holiday. And as the name suggests, you will have to climb a few hills here and there. But when you climb, there will also be a moment when you descend again. What's more, you can enjoy the beautiful views from the hilltops.
Due to the many hills, many chalet-style houses were built here, especially in the early 20th century. Some of them still exist today. You will also find a Roman aqueduct in Berg en Dal.
You cycle towards Malden through wooded surroundings. Hidden among the trees is a clearing where you can see the foundations of a former Roman watchtower in the landscape. The watchtower dates back to the 3rd century.
Between the climbs and descents, you can recharge your batteries at one of the excellent restaurants along the route. Or get off your bike for a visit to one of the museums in Berg en Dal and the surrounding area. It's a wonderful day out!
