Cycle route Pieterpad (part 10)
Overloon, Gennep, Wanssum
Anyone cycling through Gennep should definitely take a look at the Ellen Hoffmannplein, a unique square with modern mosaics. The square can be admired behind the old town hall on the Markt. In the old town hall from the seventeenth century, you will find the Ceramics Museum.
Wanssum has a port of great regional significance. In 1934, an industrial harbour was dug for employment purposes. In 1963, a pleasant marina was added. Here, you can settle down on the terrace of the harbour café and enjoy the view over the water. In and around the village of Wanssum, there are many chapels and crucifixes in memory of the Catholic faith.
When you arrive at Oud Bergen, stop off at Kunsthuis De Bakkerij. Here you come into contact with art in a very special way. Venture into this nostalgic environment and get back on your bike full of knowledge.
Start and finish your route at the starting point, located between node 54 and 44 near Overloon. Here, you will find ample parking space and, after your bike ride, you will immediately have an address where you can end the day with a delicious snack and drink.
