Cycle route Discover Nijkerk
Nijkerk
Nijkerk is located on the edge of the Gelderse Valley and near the Nijkerkernauw. It is a town with a rich history. This town and its surroundings have it all: meadows, forest and heath. If you are looking for a route with a variety of landscapes, this one is highly recommended.
From the marina at the Arkersluis, you cycle towards Nijkerk. Visit Museum Nijkerk to discover its history; a fun outing for young and old. Stop by the pancake farm and enjoy the slides at the Pirate Island playground.
As you leave Nijkerk behind, you will see many birds in the polders. Flying, floating in the ditches or pecking in the meadows.
Finally, you enjoy a beautiful ride along the Nijkerkernauw, one of the Randmeren between Flevoland and Gelderland. Here you have a wonderful view over the water and can see Flevoland in the distance. Along the way, you pass the Arkemheen steam pumping station, where you can visit the information centre from Tuesday to Saturday.
A fun, active and educational day!
Tip: Want to shorten the route? At junction 44, you can go directly to junction 54. This reduces the route to about 18 km.
