This 38-kilometre route takes you to the Holtingerveld nature reserve. A beautiful primal landscape moulded by ice and war.
For thousands of years, people have roamed the moors here. First to look for food, later to graze cattle. Nowadays, shepherds take their flocks of sheep onto the heathland. A beautiful spectacle.
You can still see the remains of the airfield built by the German occupiers in World War II.
