Cycle route around Lake Veluwe and the Veluwe forests

Nunspeet, Harderwijk, Biddinghuizen
Cycling along Lake Veluwe is wonderfully relaxing. You will be amazed by the views along the water. Bobbing boats, an aqueduct, locks and sandy beaches where you can relax on a warm summer's day. In the middle of the lake are several islands covered with trees and bushes, which attract unusual water birds. The charming fishing towns of Harderwijk and Elburg give you a taste of what it was like when the Veluwemeer was still the Zuiderzee. Park your bike and stroll through the narrow, historic streets of Elburg or stroll along the Harderwijk boulevard.
Not far from the water, you can head into the woods. While cooling off under the canopy of trees, cycle towards the Hulshorsterzand. For a view of the Veluwe desert, climb the dune along the road. You will then see white sand as far as the eye can see. Pass through the charming town of Nunspeet and cycle towards the farmland. And then you know: Lake Veluwe is not far away!
Would you like to shorten the cycle route? Take the bicycle ferry between Biddinghuizen (junction 49) and Nunspeet (junction 60, accessible via junction 32-60 or via junction 82-81-60) and cut off part of the cycle route.
