In the middle of the Spelderholt near Hoenderloo you will find the wildlife viewing screen De Ringakker. The viewing screen stands on the edge of a quiet zone that is not accessible to the public. This calm ensures that animals are regularly seen here, especially at dusk.
Red deer, roe deer and wild boar are most commonly seen. But foxes and badgers also pass by regularly.
The Spelderholt has been designated a state wildlife reserve since 1956. After the Second World War, there was little wildlife left on the Veluwe, and this reserve played an important role in the recovery of the wild population.
