Westerhout Residence - Beverwijk
Balthasar Coymans built Westerhout in 1627, but the homestead was not to the liking of Lucas Boreel, a nobleman, who took possession of it in 1814. He had a new house built. His grandson, a former mayor of Beverwijk, had the house considerably extended in 1905. The house can be viewed from the outside; part of it now houses Brasserie Grand-Café de Smaeckkamer.
