In the hill landscape near Oirsbeek, you will find the Beukenberg lookout point. A hill with a height of 115 metres above sea level. Did you know that the hill was excavated in the past to extract sand and gravel? This created quarries in which waste was dumped.

That does not sound very attractive of course, but between 2000 and 2001 the whole area was taken under others and a clean layer of soil was laid down and planted. As a result, it is now a beautiful walking area. At the top, you will find the lookout point with a magnificent panorama.

The slope of the beech mountain is also very popular in cycling, so if you are on a road bike or mountain bike, this is a nice challenge for you.
