The Wolderwijd is one of the Randmeer lakes that originated during the poldering of the Zuiderzee. It is a particularly popular area for water sports enthusiasts, but also offers plenty of space for nature. Sometimes you can even be surprised by a special bath guest: the flamingo. This exotic bird is regularly spotted here, especially in the winter period, and are probably escaped birds from bird parks.
