Did you know that Vincent van Gogh created no less than a quarter of his oeuvre in the Brabant village of Nuenen? That means you can literally walk in his footsteps in the village. The Van Gogh Village Museum shows the life of Vincent in Nuenen and highlights the importance of his Brabant period for his entire body of work.
You’ll discover how he painted his first masterpiece, The Potato Eaters, here, as well as the journey leading up to it. In the innovative Vincents Lichtlab, you can experiment yourself with light and colour, just as Vincent did. There is also always a temporary exhibition on display in the museum. Extra fun: children up to and including 17 years old visit the museum for free!
As many as 24 locations in Nuenen remind us of Van Gogh. So after your museum visit, there is still plenty to see! Walking and cycling routes in the form of the booklet Op pad met Vincent are available at the museum.
