Vincent van Gogh started his artistic career in Etten-Leur. This garden is a tribute to him, following the success of the 2024 project ‘Vase with 15 Sunflowers’. In January 2025, work began on the garden and the labyrinth. It was officially opened in June by the mayor and the youth mayor.

Now there’s a real labyrinth, a butterfly garden, woodland edge, flower beds with around 30 types of dahlias and of course sunflowers, a fruit lane, a frog pond and a mini exhibition of AI-generated art in Van Gogh style. All of it surrounded by willow trees, Van Gogh’s favourite, which he often drew and painted.

The Experience Garden is open to everyone year round, completely free of charge.
