The taut geometric lines of De Wijde Wormer form a nice contrast with the jagged lines of the surrounding peat meadow area. The Wijde Wormer was not connected to the sea, but from the village of Neck people went fishing on the lake. Now spoonbills regularly walk around looking for fish.
