This used to be a peatland and if you look closely it is still visible in the pattern of the landscape. The area, southeast of the Loosdrechtse Lakes, is an authentic landscape of swamp and swamp forest. An ideal breeding and resting place for the black tern and the marmoset, for example, but you will also come across special plants such as dewberry, hollow-pipe and agrimony.
