The Moerderij free-range pigs - De Moer
At De Moerderij, the free-range pigs and chickens roam outside all year round. At De Moerderij, they get the chance to live their natural lives, which means the pigs can run and root around in the mud, while the chickens can peck in the grass. Fantastic to see!
In addition to the usual feed, the animals are fed grains and grass. With the pigs, trimmings and seasonal vegetables are also on the menu.
Due to the breed, diet and ample exercise, the pigs and chickens grow more slowly than on standard farms. For meat lovers, this makes for a deliciously tender and flavourful piece of meat. Fresh cuts of meat and meat specialities from our own animals, as well as other farm products, are available in the farm shop.
