The village you are currently cycling through was created when the zinc factory settled in the area. The factory workers lived in this village.

As the village grew, so did the need for maintaining order. To lock up people who misbehaved, the factory built this prison in the village. Smugglers, hoodlums, thieves and other vices were locked up in 't Prisonneke.
