As Yerseke is the shellfish centre of the Netherlands, he is here: De Mosselman (not from Scheveningen but from Yerseke). The sculpture is of truthful size and clearly depicts a hard-working mussel fisherman.

The statue was created by artist Lou Boonman and was unveiled by Princess Juliana in 1981.
