Bap is Volendam for grandfather. This sculpture of a fisherman on clogs can be found near the village harbor, on the bench with his back to the Markermeer. Jans van Baarsen decided to make a sculpture of Baps in 1998. Since then he has belonged to Volendam, just like his other sculptors by the way!
