Papeneiland is, as it were, a floating recreation area, the result of a citizens’ initiative aimed at making better use of the potential of the Langeraarseplassen. The unique design, which is placed on top of the water, allows fish to swim underneath the island. In addition, the various bird species that inhabit this area were taken into account when choosing the plants.
