This water tower was built in 1898 to a design by Jan Schotel. Until 2002, the tower was used as a water supply for surrounding towns.

The water tower is owned by PWN Drinkwaterbedrijf Noord-Holland. You can't just go in but there are regular tours of the tower. Keep an eye on the link, "Beklim de watertoren" lets you know when another guide is going out.
